So this is Winter 2012???

Hi readers :)

It is a wonderful Saturday afternoon and I'm finally done with my work week.  Yippee!!!!! **doing the cabbage patch** I'm only 24, but I feel like I just aged myself when I did that dance. Anywho...

So what's going on with me you ask.  Well, I'll break it down in a few categories.  Hair, Fitness, and Grad School.

Hair!  I haven't talked about my hair in a minute.  Let me see, where should I start.  Of course I'm still aiming for that stronger, longer, healthier hair we all desire.  I haven't done a length check in a while, but I will do one in 6 weeks when I take out my, duh duh duuuhhhnnnnn.  Kinky Twists! Yay!!!  I haven't had braids/twists since high school.  Crazy long time, huh?  Honestly, I was busy wearing weaves.  Yeah! I said it.  I wear weaves.

When I take out my kinky twists, I will give my hair a break for 2 weeks then go right back into some sort of protective style.  I'm tryna grow this hair son! Plus, all this protective styling makes exercising a lot easier....

(((What a segway!!! Whoot-whoot!!!)))

Fitness!

This brings me to my next point, the commercial that has played over a billion times since January 1st....

Aren't you tired of it, cuz I AM!!!!

But let me be serious for a second....Weight Watchers got me thinking.  I think I have a problem with food.  We've been in a long term dysfunctional relationship for a long time and it has got to end.  My food choices, my portions, the hours I eat, ALL WRONG MAYNE.  So wrong in fact that I've noticed weight gain.  (((Say it ain't so Rae))).  Yup, weight gain.  So I definitely have been trying to change my ways by eating more balanced and sticking to my workout routine.

Which brings me to my next point.... I feel like I've hit my running plateau.  Ahhhh! Its so frustrating.  Everytime I try to run a little longer or a little further, I feel like death is near.  And who wants to be the girl that passes out on the treadmill and loses four teeth? Not me!!!! So any tricks for staying on the treadmill longer, swing them my way.

Grad School!

The people who know my life are probably saying:  Don't you already have a Masters??
Me:  Yeah, and?

So let me update you on my journey to my doctorate.  I'm taking the GRE in May and I dedicate a part of my lunch break everyday to study vocabulary.  Yes, I turn off the soap operas and Family Feud to study, at work, on my break.  How spartan of me, don't you agree :).

Besides squeezing studying into my schedule, I've been trying to fit in time to look at different programs.  So far there are three programs which interest me: one at Columbia, one at the University of Maryland, and one at Emory.  The one at Columbia is calling my name but the price tag is making me do the Heisman.  What to do, what to do....

Oh well,  I'm just glad I got a post in for January.  I'm tryna do better folks :)

Thanks for reading.  Later.
