I fly with the stars in the skies...

This is overdue.

This time next week I’ll be fighting jet lag.

PHL → CDG

Crazy right.

I’ll be on the same US Airways flight from 2007 when I studied in Nantes and from 2010 when I taught in Blois.  I’m a creature of habit, what can I say.  You know what’s funny, the first two times, I had the same flight attendant.  I only remember because she was black.  I wonder if she will be on the flight next week.  Honestly, I hope not.  I want her to make career moves.

Any who…

I got back from Middlebury, Vermont almost two weeks ago.  Despite the smell of manure blowing in the air and eating the same meals over and over, I loved it.  I met some great people and spoke the most French I have ever spoken in life.

And you know what’s pretty cool, for the first week back in PA, speaking English seemed strange.  Every once in a while, I have to catch myself and stop the French that wants to come out.  Funny.

So Paris, how about it…

I have a studio in the 14th arrondissement.  I’ve seen two pictures of the place.  Hopefully I’ll have room to do a celebratory dance once I arrive.

I’m taking a break from packing to write this.  Packing, packing, packing.  I started earlier this week and I still haven’t finished.  95% of the items I’m taking are in one room, now I just need to reduce those items by 33%.

How does a chronic over packer put her whole life in two suitcases?  Yes, two.

Just one suitcase should be fine Sharae.  Negative.

I’ll just give you one reason why.  The last time I was in France, finding quality hair products was a struggle.  If I happened to find something on my approval list, it was overpriced.  So yeah, this time, I’m prepared.

Everyday, my goal is to remove items of clothing from piles that will go in my suitcases.  How does a person who likes having options, take away options.  This is so hard!

Most of the other tasks on my to-do lists are completed.  Right now I just need to make some copies of important documents, organize paperwork, unlock my phone, and some other random things…

Well let me get back to work.

Break over.

Later gators.
