Christos Anesti!!!!! (That's Happy Easter in Greek!!!)

Hi world.

So I've been in Athens for a few days now and it has been lovely.  Walking around aimlessly in the beautiful weather, watching the most friendly stray dogs wander through crowds of tourists, not to mention the wonderful groups of Brits my lil Fish n Chips Tameka sent me :).

I've seen some really great things.  New parts of Athens, old parts of Athens, and ancient parts of Athens.  (I will definitely start using more discretion with how I use the world "old")

Easter season in Greece is breathtaking.....

I went to a church service for Good Friday as well as midnight mass for Easter.  I really don't think words can accurately describe the visual and symbolic power of both of those events.  Imagine with me if you will..... At 11:30pm, the streets are flooded as each neighborhood walks to their local church.  And once you arrive at the church, it is standing room only.  So much to the point that, the crowd spills from the pews, into the aisles, outside the doors, onto the steps and streets surrounding the church.  Ok.  Once you have that visual, imagine everyone holding candles.... Incredible to say the least.

The next leg of my trip begins early tomorrow morning when I set sail to Santorini.  Apparently this Greek island has one of the best views of sunsets in the world.... Looking forward to it (said with my newly perfected British accent)....

Pics coming soon.
